Family dinner ideas UK
The family classic, with the veg hidden in. Serves 4, about 60 minutes.

Method
Boil the chopped potatoes for 15 to 20 minutes until a knife slides in easily. Heat the oven to 200C (180C fan, gas 6).
Soften the onion and carrot in the oil for 5 minutes, add the mince and cook until there is no pink left.
Stir in the gravy and the peas and simmer for 10 minutes until thick. Tip it into a baking dish.
Drain the potatoes and mash them with the butter until smooth.
Spoon the mash over the mince, spread it to the edges and rough up the top with a fork so it crisps.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the top is golden and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
Cool leftovers, get them into the fridge within 2 hours and eat within 2 days. Reheat once only, until steaming hot all the way through.
