Meat-free dinner ideas UK
A meat-free spag bol from the cupboard. Serves 4, about 40 minutes.

Method
Heat the oil in a deep pan and cook the onion, carrot and celery gently for 8 minutes until soft.
Rinse the lentils and add them with the tomatoes, the herbs and one tomato tin full of water.
Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring now and then, until the lentils are soft. Add a splash more water if it gets too thick.
Cook the spaghetti as the packet says for the last 10 minutes, then drain.
Serve a quarter of the sauce over each portion of spaghetti with a little grated cheese. The sauce freezes well.
