1. Who you're dealing with
MyPlatePrep is run by MY PLATE PREP LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17395576. Registered office: Unit 6 Whitewall Road, Medway City Estate, Rochester, ME2 4LQ. You can reach us at info@myplateprep.com.
These terms are between you and us. Using MyPlatePrep means you accept them.
2. What MyPlatePrep is — and what it isn't
It's an automated service. Your meal plans and replies are written by AI and checked by safety rules before they're sent. When you message us, you're talking to software.
MyPlatePrep's founder is not a nutritionist, dietitian or medical professional. What you get here is general meal planning and general information about food. It is not medical or dietetic advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from your GP, your pharmacist or a registered dietitian.
We don't diagnose anything, we don't treat anything, and we never claim that food prevents, treats, manages or cures any medical condition. If you want a person to look at something, reply HUMAN and a real person will look at it.
3. You need to be 18 or over
MyPlatePrep is for adults. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and refuse anyone under 18. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it.
4. What we do, and what you need to do
This is the most important section, so it's the plainest one.
What we do: we build every plan around what you've told us — your calorie target, your likes and dislikes, your allergies and intolerances, and any religious or ethical requirements. We check what we send you against those things before it goes out.
What we can't do: we can't see your food, we can't read your labels, we can't see a use-by date, and we can't see inside a sealed container or anything that has been decanted into a different tub. We only know what you've told us.
So before you cook or eat anything we suggest, you need to check it yourself:
- that the ingredients are what we said they were;
- that everything is in date and still good to eat;
- that it's fit to eat and nothing harmful has got into it;
- that it fits your own allergies and intolerances — read the ingredients panel and the ‘may contain’ line on every packet, every time, because manufacturers change recipes without telling anyone;
- that it fits any religious or ethical requirement you have — we're not a halal, kosher or vegan certification service and we can't verify how a product was made;
- and that it's cooked properly before you eat it.
Please don't treat your plan as an allergen check or a safety check. If a label is missing or unclear, or the food is loose and unpackaged, don't eat it. If you have any doubt at all about a product or about whether something suits you, don't rely on us — check the label and speak to your GP, pharmacist or a registered dietitian.
5. Photos
You can send us a photo of your fridge, your cupboard, your shopping or a meal, and we'll tell you what we think we can see.
We only name what looks like food. We don't check whether anything is safe to eat or drink, and if we say nothing about an item in your photo, that does not mean we've looked at it and found it safe. Please keep cleaning products, chemicals and medicines out of shot and away from your food. If we spot something in a photo that isn't food, we'll refuse the whole photo rather than work around it.
We don't keep your photos. We keep a record that a photo arrived, its caption, and a fingerprint of the file. WhatsApp and our AI provider each keep their own copy for up to 30 days under their own policies, and we can't shorten that.
6. Health conditions and medication
We ask whether you have a health condition or take medication, but we never ask what it is and we never store that. We don't adjust plans around medical conditions. If you tell us you have one, your plan will carry a note saying exactly that and asking you to check it with your GP, pharmacist or dietitian first.
If a health professional tells you something different from us, do what they say.
7. Price, billing and cancelling
MyPlatePrep costs £9.99 a month. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Your subscription renews monthly on the same date until you cancel.
Your 14-day right to cancel. Because this is a service bought at a distance, you have 14 days from signing up to change your mind and get your money back. If you ask us to start straight away — which is what happens when we send your first plan — and then cancel within the 14 days, we can charge you a fair amount for what you've already had.
Cancelling any time after that. Email info@myplateprep.com or reply CANCEL on WhatsApp. We'll action it the same day. You keep access until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. There's nothing to phone up about and no retention script.
If we change the price, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days first, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
8. What we're responsible for
We'll provide this service with reasonable care and skill, as the law requires.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. It couldn't, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Agreeing to these terms doesn't mean you've accepted any risk.
What we can fairly say is this: our suggestions are general information based on what you've told us, and the checks in section 4 are yours to make. We're not responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us getting something wrong, or for things outside our reasonable control.
If we get something wrong, tell us. We'd rather fix it than argue about it.
9. Using the service sensibly
Please don't use MyPlatePrep to get advice for someone else without telling us, don't send us photos of other people, and don't try to get the AI to say things it shouldn't. We may pause or close an account that's being misused, and we'll tell you why.
We may also pause an account if something you've said suggests you'd be better served by a person than by software — for example a disclosure about eating or about your health. That's not a punishment, and a real person will always be in touch.
10. Complaints
Email info@myplateprep.com and put COMPLAINT in the subject. We'll acknowledge within 2 working days and give you a full answer within 14 days. If you're not happy with the outcome, you can take it further — your local Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change anything that matters, we'll email you first and put the new version here with a new date. Carrying on using the service after that means you accept the change; if you don't, cancel and we'll refund anything you've paid for time you haven't had.
12. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in your own courts instead.
Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer under UK law.
